Ms. Bob Davis has been nominated for San Francisco Pride Community Grand Marshal! Cast you vote at sfpride.org/grand-marshals
From Ms. Bob:
This is an honor I do not take lightly, and I‘m asking you to vote for me.
Having a transgender historian as Community Grand Marshall in 2026 would make a powerful statement: that the San Francisco Bay Area values trans history and rejects transphobia and the violent mischaracterizations of transgender lives promoted by the White House and the radical right.
For almost 50 years I have been collecting trans books, magazines, newsletters, ephemera, photographs, phonograph records and posters. For over 35 years I’ve been sharing my trans history collection by writing articles for community magazines and academic journals; delivering talks and presenting information tables, to both LGTB and non-LGBT audiences, at community colleges, universities, museums, churches, international conferences and San Quentin Rehabilitation Center, formerly known as San Quentin State Prison. Recently I’ve curated trans-history exhibits at GLBT History Museum, Vallejo Naval & Historical Museum, Vacaville Museum, Solano Pride Center and Transgender Gender-Variant & Intersex Justice Project’s Black Trans Cultural Center in San Francisco.
In 2018 my collection officially became the Louise Lawrence Transgender Archive. Since then, LLTA has been visited by students, scholars, filmmakers, visual artists, a member of the CA State Assembly, community members exploring their own trans-identities, and parents and grandparents of transgender youth.
By keeping trans history in trans hands LLTA has become a powerful tool for promoting trans visibility and countering the vicious misinformation spewing from the forces of trans erasure.
Please consider voting for me for Community Grand Marshall. And help spread the word about my candidacy to your friends and networks. Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Ms. Bob
