Next up in the series is Casa Susanna, which delves into the eponymous underground haven in the 1950s-1960s where transgender women and cross-dressing men could live temporarily as women without fear of persecution. This film offers a poignant retrospective through the recollections of its visitors who found acceptance, freedom, and the courage to ‘live out of the shadows.’
After the screening, our panel of experts will explore Casa Susanna’s archival history and its influence on fashion and identity, shedding light on the intersection of personal expression and societal acceptance.
